The principal or designee will contact law enforcement authorities if there are reasonable grounds to believe the student has violated the Florida Criminal Code or a county ordinance. He/she will attempt to contact the student's parents or legal guardian prior to the student's interview by the law enforcement official. Following the interview, a request should be made for a copy of the police report. If drugs are seized by the law enforcement official, the principal or designee should request that the drugs be tested. 7.
